For all home improvement projects, power tools are an absolute necessity. There are some basic power tools such as jigsaw, circular saw, sander and router that are most commonly used. Circular saw is excellent for cutting down wood, especially sheet materials and plywood. Sander uses power for sanding, and hence saves incredible amount of drudgery and time. Jigsaw is used to cut patterns and holes in the panels, and routers can be used for various small projects that need making recesses and grooves. Various Power Tool Accessories Bit set is one of the most common power tool accessories, and includes bits of most common sizes to complete daily tasks. There is also a hex shank locking system that prevents the problems of spinning bits while working on the projects. The changes are easy and quick so that the job can be finished faster. Some of the most commonly used power tool accessories include alignment tools, drill and drill press accessories, bases, stands and supports, multifunction table, motor accessories, lathe accessories, jigs and fixtures, table saw accessories, pneumatic accessories, INCRA Miter gauges and reciprocating saw accessories.

    Won’t cut a diaper
    Rating:1 out of 5 stars
These scissors won’t cut a diaper and do not cut plastic much heavier. Not so great on cardboard boxes either. I bought some for myself and some as gifts based on the reviews here and was extremely disappointed. I did find they cut plastic packaging pretty well but find it ironic they were packed in this awful stuff. Anyway, I think they work fine on paper and may be good with fabric, but heavy cutting or even light cutting with plastic (a baby diaper, I just don’t get why they won’t cut this) is a real chore and not worth it. Fortunately, I did not invest in the their cordless saw after seeing the poor reviews on that item, and I hope others will not expect much of these scissors either.

My son is very pleased with this product. It cuts the edging off those hard to open molded clear plastic packages in a flash. Much better than using a knife or manual scissors for the task.

I bought this for my arthritic handed wife. It is a blessing as she doesn’t have much strength in her hands.

I love this product…the scissors do what they are designed to do, cut paper, cardboard, foam, fabric, etc. I have tried them on numerous surfaces, and they work extremely well. The battery lasts quite a while also. I do a lot of crafting, and cutting heavier paper and then foam board is a must, and these scissors do the job.

It does NOT cut through the plastic as advertised. I’m returning this item. This was the only reason I purchased these scissors, is to cut through those heavy plastic wrapped products.

I found this product outstanding, but bought it at Home Depot for $19.97. Amazon needs to rethink their pricing.

I have been wanting a pair of electric scissors for a while, I remember using some corded scissors in the past but couldn’t find them anywhere. I saw a lot of used pairs on eBay.

I saw a lot of new cordless scissors, but didn’t have a lot of faith that they would 1.) hold a charge, and 2.) have enough power.

These Black and Decker scissors are perfect. They can chomp through thick paper, fabric, or plastic. They have good power, and hold a charge for a long time. I would reccommend them to anyone looking for power scissors that are between those for paper and then the heavy duty industrial kind.

I received this scissor and used it to cut those awful clam shell packages that everything seems to be in. I have used a scissor, a knife and an opener specially designed to open clam shell packaging. The electric scissor worked wonders. I have had hand surgery and suffer from advanced arthritis. This scissor is worth every cent. B & D has done it again. Thanks

This is a great tool! I purchased it to open those impossible to open hard clear plastic packages. Give the battery a good charge and then watch it go!

It works on many other materials also.

    i hate them
    Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I don’t know if i got a defective pair of scissors, or what, but nothing that everyone else says is true. These scissors would barely cut through thin plastic, and wouldn’t even cut thin cardboard. Using regular scissors is much easier. It made me sad, cause I was so excited to get them. And sometimes its really hard to cut straight lines with anything that causes slight force to the scissors, because they become hard to control.

    Hard to Find
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
These scissors were sold out at every local store. I ordered them at Amazon for my mother for Christmas and they are fantastic. At 81 years old, she has a hard time opening up some packages, or cutting up cardboard boxes. These scissors solved the problem. I highly recommend them. Very easy to use.

  15. Working Poor says:

    These are serious!!!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Greetings all … I am one of the many unfortunate folks that developed Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, albeit industrial, it grossly limits my functioning everywhere. Tasks once taken for granted are now a chore or impossible. The discovery of these scissors has literally been a godsend! As previously posted, they do in fact eat through that hard plastic packaging like a 10-year-old through a pudding cup. However, they tend to stumble a bit with the hard plastic ridges. I have found that if you begin your cutting at the hole used to display the product, the ridges are avoided, and therefore not a problem. Also, as stated in previous reviews the price coupled with my current disability is what led me to purchase these. I too have spent more on lottery tickets and had nothing to show after. After 12 hours of charging nothing in my house was safe! I immediately purchased a second unit!!! Several months ago we had purchased a pair of motorized scissors, marketed by Singer for about five dollars less. When I read the ad claims for these particular scissors, I attempted to open a plastic package with the Singer brand scissors, only to have the blades literally explode from the tip of the scissors! We concluded that perhaps the Singer scissors were meant for fabric only!?!? These scissors on the other hand are genuinely hard-core. Again, their major limitation is the ability to start a cut over a hard plastic ridge. However, with minimal troubleshooting, you will figure out a way around this. As stated at the beginning of my review, I simply start at the hole meant for the hanging display. I highly recommend these for anyone who has issues with their hands or wrists, or simply want to take the effort and risk out of opening that hard plastic product packaging, which has actually cut me moderately to severely in the past. My only complaint thus far; is how to locate and acquire additional heads. Black & Decker are infamous for putting out a very cool device such as this, only to pull it from the shelves a year or two later. I learned this with one of their drills with the removable chuck. This particular drill allowed you to drill a pilot hole, remove the chuck by simply pressing a button, exposing a screwdriver head ready to go. This was a great idea, but is also not in their product lineup anymore. I guess drilling pilot holes is not in vogue in the 21st century? Given how cool the scissors are, and that they are literally an adaptive device for me, additional heads are a necessity. That is my only complaint. Otherwise, if you follow the directions and understand its realistic limitations, you will not be sorry about the purchase. I write very few product reviews, because I have to use voice recognition software, which depending on accuracy can be quite time consuming in the cleanup process. These scissors’s, motivated me to fire up the voice recognition software and sing the praises of their usefulness.

    Junk – Arrived DOA
    Rating:1 out of 5 stars
Bought for Christmas. When opened it won’t charge. The instructions tell you to not return the product. Call the Black and Decker 800 number. But after calling, waiting until they are in the office (M – F 8:00 to 5:00, weekdays only – no holidays) and then waiting on hold for half an hour, they tell you to return it. Nothing they can do. It’s probably a dead battery.

Got these for xmas from my wife. At 1st I thought, what will I ever use these for? I charged them up for 12 hrs and then when I went to cut up all the xmas toy boxes for the recycling, I thought I would try these (I usually use a utility knife). Wow, I could not believe how easily these cut through cardboard. These scissors made the job of cutting up the boxes so much easier (& more fun). I have used them for cutting open the heavy plastic stuff and they work great once you get past the heavy edges. These are also very nice for getting a nice even edge when cutting wrapping paper. They cut through paper about as fast as you can move your arm! I am already looking for stores that have some left after the xmas buying rush, to get some for my Dad and my siblings. These things are great, I highly recommend.

What a wonderful invention. I spent a lot of time sewing this fall and into winter and these powerful little scissors turned nightmares into dreams. I was using some very heavy fabrics and I am disabled so cutting would really hurt me sometimes. These scissors made it so easy and so fast that I couldn’t believe that I didn’t have a pair long ago. You won’t regret purchasing these.

    A Handy-Dandy Little Appliance
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Just the slickest little cordless electric appliance you’ll have in your paws for cutting paper, cloth, canvas, screen wire, plastic sheeting, poster board, etc.. I mean fast, clean, neat, comfortable to operate, and turns on a dime! Makes quick work at what ever task it can handle … and that’s most any reasonable material that any heavy duty scissors can handle only much faster, and forget the repetitive action fatgue factor … there isn’t any. Got a problem with “corpal-Tunnel”? .. Forget it with this little jewel.

It’s worth the price just for wrapping Christmas gifts!

This came out of the box fully charged and ready to go. Cuts through the hard plastic case it came in like a hot knife through butter. The Cordless Power Scissors makes a great gift for anyone, man or woman, who would enjoy saving time and elbow grease. You really won’t know how you lived without one.

    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I have had difficulty cutting fabrics for several years and the electric scissors are not strong enough to cut heavy materials. I was somewhat skeptical of the other reviews but I decided to give it a try. What ever you need to cut and it doesn’t require a saw, this is the tool. Carpet, foam underlayment, delicate fabrics, canvas, you name it, these babies will take care of it. The only problem I had was taking off one head and putting on the other. That worked its self out with a couple of times of changing them out.

Not What I Expected….Unfortunately For Me
    Rating:2 out of 5 stars
I saw this product on a christmas commercial where a woman had to open a child’s toy that was covered/wrapped in that awful clear plastic. I have two young children and it is such a pain in the neck (and hands!) to open all those christmas toys vaulted in plastic. So, I thought these scissors were my ticket to an easy morning opening all those christmas present. Unfortunately for me, the scissors were not strong enough to cut through the plastic vault it came in! Ugh. I ended-up returning the scissors. If you want to cut anything softer than plastic, then these are great scissors for you!

    HELP ME….I’m a cutting fool!!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
    Hi Folks,

I purchased these scissors after seeing them advertised on the (….) tube. After seeing the price I figured what could I lose I mean really, I’ve spent more on lottery tickets and ended up with nothing to show for it. I charged the scissors for 12 hours as per the instructions and then went on a cutting frenzy! Trust me folks, there was not a safe magazine, cardboard box or plastic carton for 2 miles that I didn’t chop to bits with these things. The power of the scissors is really quite amazing considering their size and weight and they fit your hand like a glove. The only thing I could think of to improve this product (More like a wish) is to have a holster for them that you can wear on your belt like a cowboy and his trusty six-shooter. Yep, there would have been a very different outcome at the O.K. Corral if I had been there with my powered scissors.

Ok so enough blabbering, the scissors are a great product at a good price, just be careful not to become a power scissor bandito or you and I are going to have it out on the white paper of life!

    Ciao!

The SZ360 (item on this page) includes:

-3.6V scissors, universal cutting blade, and charger.

    The SZ360T includes:

-3.6V scissors, universal cutting blade, fabric cutting blade, table mount & charger.

I picked this up at my local Sears and found that it didn’t include a table mount or an additional blade that a lot of people talked about on here. Home Depot offers the SZ360T online for the same price…. something to keep in mind.

The Black and Decker Cordless Power Scissors, along with Black and Decker’s Cordless Screwdriver

and the Black & Decker Handisaw were just what we were in the market for. While I had often thought about buying them in the past, this seemed to be a perfect time to finally make the purchase. Just in time to use for the cutting and wrapping of our family Christmas presents. Because my wife has a plate in her wrist using regular scissors is sometimes, literally, a pain for her. Not so with the Black and Decker Cordless Scissors. She has said these just glide right through. She doesn’t have to work the scissors, she said she just holds them and goes along for the ride! Not having any wrist or hand fatigue to deal with is a blessing. Works as smooth as a knife through butter! ~ The Boss (Mrs. B. agrees!)

    The Best There Is
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I bought these before they ever hit the market. I was searching for an easier way of doing the cutting for Rag Quilts and Chenille Quilting. I saw the ad for these in a craft magazine and because of Black & Decker’s great reputation I knew I had to have these. For all you people doing rag quilting and chenille quilting, do yourself and your hands a favor and invest in these scissors. You’ll soon find out you’ll wish you had gotten these sooner. My husband also loves these and I’m going to order 2 more of these sets very shortly. I’ve told many people about the ease of use of these scissors and also the fact that they will cut not only fabric but tarp material; vinyl and canvas. There just isn’t too much stuff out there on the market that these scissors won’t cut through and the blade still stays sharp.

Cutting Multilayer Wet & Dry Fiberglass
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This compact tool is particularly good for accuately cutting wet multilayer fiberglass which has been wetted out between sheets of painters plastic. The small cutting head does not separate the wet layers. After use, the cutting head can be snapped off and cleaned in alcohol. This is a huge improvement over ordinary hand scissors. Large diagonal cuts on dry fiberglass become trivially easy.

FANTASTIC! If only more products were like this?! I do a lot of chain sewing while quilting, put these in the stand and separate them so quickly that is effortless. Would be even more wonderful if they came with a storage stand. They work really well for cutting rugs/carpet to fit, hands never get tired or sore. Multiple layers – no problem. Black & Decker you did yourself proud!!!

WONDERFUL – Like a hot knife through soft butter. I got them to trim up quilts after the quilting has been completed and they are great. I never realized how easy they are to use and there is absolutely NO stress on your hands compared to regular scissors or even rotary cutter!! I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this tool for your sewing or craft room.

This is the best little tool!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I bought this scissors to use for cutting recycled clothing into rags for our job shop. In recent years I’ve found my hands won’t take that kind of repetative work for any length of time without pain, so I went searching for a tool that would spare my aging hands. I chose Black and Decker’s version of the electric scissors because of the company’s reputation and because their scissors included a mounting bracket, making it possible for me to mount the scissors on a table and “feed” the material through it, effortlessly cutting it to whatever shape and size desired. I am SO IMPRESSED with the quality and power of this scissors, in such a small pkg and at such a reasonable price, that I’ve already decided to give it to several people on my list next Christmas. Wheather for heavier cutting jobs or light weight household chores, if you’re looking for an excellent general purpose electric scissors, I don’t believe you can go wrong with Black and Decker’s Cordless Power Scissors. Every household should have at least one!

These are the greatest thing since sliced bread! I make purses out of heavy upholstery fabric, and these have saved my hands. They zip through any thickness without hesitation and came with a second scissor blade with a flat bottom just for fabric. The different scissor blades (there are two) snap off and on, don’t make the mistake I did and try to unscrew them to change them…duh…I love these things. I would buy them again and again and again. They are easy to control, you can even cut sideways! I used to use a rotary cutter but these have sped up my work by at least 100%.

I first became aware of this product when the scissors were very favorably reviewed in a sewing magazine. I have been very pleased with them. Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I really love the new Black & Decker cordless power scissors. I have been sewing for 30 years and have been waiting for this product. It is wonderful to finally buy scissors that actually do what the manufacturer claims and these do. I have lost track of how much money I have wasted on scissors that wouldn’t cut through even one layer of the lighest weight fabric. Black & Deckers cut layers of heavy weight like butter. They are just great.

B&D Cordless Power Scissors is a good tool
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I have more powerful, etc. electric tools for cutting various things, but I got this for my wife to cut material with for sewing, and it works like a charm. Being cordless is a definite plus, also. Cuts double layer of felt – about 3/16″ thick – just like butter – this is thickest we have tried. Easy to steer on large pieces of fabric. Definitely outperforms manual scissors on general cutting, and cuts a smooth edge, nothing ragged or torn, just like scissors on paper – regular scissors still needed for precise, careful cutting, cutting to a line or point, etc., as I’d say the repeatability of cutting to a line would be +/- 1/4 inch or more, depending on how careful one was. I’m a tool nut and normally buy pro-tools (read much more expensive), but I knew of no comparable tool that might be better built, and I was not disappointed – highly recommended.
