It’s often frustrating to quickly fit an adjustable wrench around a nut, especially in tight places, like below a car. Wouldn’t,it be nice if a wrench would practically fit itself, rather than the user’s having to struggle? The Black & Decker 8-inch Auto Wrench solves this problem nicely. This AA battery-powered device snaps tightly and surely into place with the quick push forward on an electric toggle switch located where the thumb falls naturally.
The ruberized unit provides a strong and comfortable grip. My only objection is probably a minor one-the outer finish is more crinkly than smooth and shiny-a cosmetic concern. I wish that the day may return that American companies would make their products with American workers in the United States. Enough of Chinese-made products.

A very handy tool to have around the garage for the person who has everything. Works great. Have had no problems with it.

After receiving the wrench I through it in the tool box in the garage for about 2 weeks before needing to use it. Due to the cold in the garage, the wrench would not function under battery power and was very stiff under manual power. I manually tightened the wrench on several bolts and found that it would not hold snug to the bolts. It did loosen the bolts, but felt like it would break or even strip the bolt after a few uses.
I would not recommend this wrench to anyone.What a waste of money!

This wrench is about the only wrench you need for household repairs. It adjusts quickly to any bolt size (within its limits). It holds its size very well. I say household repairs because for use automotively, it dosn’t maintain its size very well on excessively tight, larger bolts (you exceed its torque rating). But even there I will give it a try.

Well, I owned a hardware store and lumber yard years ago and I could have sold this many times over. I bought it from Amazon about 6 months ago, and I have yet to unwrap it from the package, but the idea is wonderful and I have been looking for a use for it. Being retired (but still handy) I don’t wrench many nuts these days, but I am hoping to find a use. I still have the habit of buying hardware I don’t really need

My husband was totally surprised with this wrench! He went through a lot of his old wrenches and threw them away. He stated ” this takes the place of plenty of odd sized wrenches!” he told me it would clear up a lot of clutter. I am very please with this gift I purchased, as it came in time and was well packaged.

I am a Drama teacher and I work with stage lights a lot. There are two completely different sizes of adjustment screws on each light. This tool makes it easy to hold the instrument in one hand and install of adjust it with the other. Love this wrench!!!

My wife wanted me to get one of these, and I was skeptical because of the price. I bought thru Amazon due to free shipping, and found that I really like it and use it all the time.
The wrench works really well and hasn’t had a problem. I can’t imagine manually setting a monkey wrench again.

This is a handy innovative tool but a serious wrench it is not. The lower jaw is a bit sloppy which makes it difficult to apply heavy force. If it were a little less expensive I would rate it four stars but the wrench is a tad costly for what you get. The good news is that it is ideal for keeping in the kitchen junk drawer for quick light duty jobs around the house and it makes a good gift for dad or grandpa.

Even the very occasional handy man/woman can’t help but love this product. I’m actually looking forward to using it again, and plan to change out a car battery over the weekend with it. Ladies who can’t think of what to get for the “guy who has everything” take note. These were recently rolled back at Walmart to the same price as they are here, but with free shipping to your door and avoiding the crowds I’ll stick with Amazon.

I bought into the novelty of this tool. It is cool to show off, but my most common use for a c-wrench is holding a nut while tightening a bolt head on the other side. The biggest annoyance is having the c-wrench slip off or slipping off while using alot of force (ouch!). These stuations are where this tool is no better than a regular c-wrench. Luckily i found a c-wrench w/ a vise grip! Its made be Stanley and also on amazon. If only they could combine these two ideas for the perfect c-wrench.

I WANT ONE ! This must be for those who buy the lettuce prewashed in those little packets. A cresent wrench is already highly suspect, the favorite tool of the backyard hack [ ME !] add power and you got a party. All the guys at work will be impressed in one way or another. I played with one in the store and it seemed to work OK. I really DO use a C wrench all the time and almost always have a 6 inch Cresent in my pocket. [ The 6 inch cresent by cresent is THE BEST wrench EVER designed BTW. ] I am hoping for the auto wrench for Christmas.

Quite a practical tool for daily usage and very simple to use and the adjusting movements are quick. A definite buy for every household. Will send one to my physician brother (he loves innovate tools) as a christmas gift.

Simpily put if you need a battery powered wrench you should stay away from nuts and bolts. This is so “nuts” of an idea that I just am speachless, almost. God gave humans a thumb and a forefinger to turn the adjuster on standard adjustable wrenchs: use them!! Buy a quality wrench from any number of manufactureres, it will last forever and is not very expensive. A set of three: 4,6,and 10 inch will do most everything these wrenchs should be used for. KDM

Easy to use and works well. My only complaint is that I wish it had a greater opening range. There were several jobs where I needed the wrench to open just a bit wider. Otherwise, it’s everything it claims to be!

When it comes to working with your hands, I think most people prefer whittling. But not me. I like to wrench stuff. And when it comes to wrenching stuff, this here Black & Decker AAW100 Auto Wrench will NOT let you down. It wrenches with the best of them. You need to wrench something big? No problem. Wrenching something small? It will get the job done. You see, it’s adjustable. So you can just throw away your old fashioned wrenches from the 20th century that are only good for one shape and size. This adjustable opens up a whole realm of possibilities.
So if your like me and wrenching is your thing, don’t pass this baby up. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I certainly would.
Can not compete with a real wrench set

First tried to use this wrench to remove copper piping from a laundry sink. Wrench simply would not grip the nuts, it does not close tight enough; at least for that application. Only thing it was good for was taking to the tool chest to size the craftsman wrench I needed.
I does work fairly well on most nuts, but still can not compete with a quality wrench set. I am going to put it in the emergency kit in my truck. I guess if space really is an issue, it is a good buy.

I received a letter for the post office saying that this item had been delivered to my door – it was not, or at least if it was it was missing. I contacted the Post Office and got NO WHERE. I contacted Amazon and they shipped the item again at no cost to me. I could not be happier with Amazon or this product. it is exactly what I hoped for, and has already been handy in hard to reach places. More importantly, I am delighted in Amazon’s committment to customer service. The Post Office could take a lesson from you folks!

I am somewhatdisappointed in this wrench because it just isn’t what I expected. It is useful but tricky to use. I am still using my old adjustable wrenches and wil probably give the Auto Wrench toone of my sons if they want it.

The Auto Wrench is truly automatic. I thought the slid thumb device was a mechanical link to the wrench adjustment. After it arrived I found that the thumb device is just two push buttons that operate an internal motor that does the opening and closing of the wrench. It is not obvious from the advertisement that this is the case. It makes the operation even more simpler and it also provides for a caliper type measurement of the width of things. The closure on something like a nut or anything that might be more complicated to measure, the wrench closes on it tightly, but not too tight and the scale can be read to find the size easily. It’s a good design. I really like it!

Great Wrench!!! Everyone should have one! One touch and it sizes for you!
I gave my Dad this for Father’s Day and he loves it…and he’s one of those people that are really hard to shop for.
As this is a new item, I tried for weeks to get this new adjustable wrench through all the big, local hardware stores and they just didn’t have it and couldn’t predict when they were getting it. Even the manufacturer on-line was temporarily out of stock. However, Amazon got it to me really fast.
Gadget people have to have one…it’s really cool!

I saw this on t.v. right before Father’s Day and come from a “Tool Man” and am also married to a “Tool Man.” On my search over the internet the next day, Amazon was the only place that I could get this but wasn’t sure it would be in time for Father’s Day, but amazingly enough they made it by Friday. BOTH my TOOL MEN were awed, my father, that shows a custom 52 Ford pickup, could hardly wait to take it to the show on Father’s Day to show off his NEW TOOL. by the way….. IT WORKS TOO. BOTH my Tool Men, thought it was the best tool they had gotten in years.

I purchased 2 of these items as gifts for men. This is a new item that was not available at Home Depot or Walmart. The wrench is unique because it is so easy to use and grip onto things. Only problem was that one of them arrived defective but was not noticeable until package was opened and product used.

This is the best new tool to come along in twenty years. What a great idea and excellent implementation of it. This is the coolest crescent wrench I have ever seen. It makes it so easy to work on projects where you have different size nuts to tighten and especially when working where space is limited. The electric adjustment on the wrench is amazingly quick. I mean you hit the switch and it’s snug up against the nut ready for you to start turning. This wrench is not fragile either. It can apply as much torque as a regular crescent wrench. It is amazing that it is not that much bigger than a regular wrench. It will fit in all thoses tight nooks and crannies where sometimes you need to get a wrench into. Amazon doesn’t have any in stock yet so I found mine at Lowes Hardware. The Thornton Colorado store sold their whole display in one day. I drove up to the Longmont Lowes to get one and it was well worth it. GREAT TOOL!
